KAIKOHE'S NEED.

DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL. Advice that the Education Department is not prepared to consider the establishment of a district high school at Kaikolic, Bay of Islands, was received by the Auckland Education Board at its meeting yesterday. It was stated by the Department that the Minister liad decided the suggested school could not be established at present, in view of the additional cost involved. Mr. E. C. Purdie said he considered Ivaikobe's claim for a district high school was the strongest that had come before the board. The need for a district high school at Kaikohe was also emphasised by Mr. R. Hoc.
