WALKING TO BLUFF.

ADVERTISING N.Z. GOODS. MISS JAMES REACHES AUCKLAND. Miss Esther James, who started last month from Pandora Camp, Spirits Bay, on a walk to the Bluff, a distance of about 1200 miles, in the interests of New Zealand made goods, arrived in Auckland yesterday, after completing 340 miles of the journey. All articles of clothing worn by Miss James are New Zealand, made, and have so far the test of the journey very well. The shoes, which she lias worn all the way from Spirits Bay, show only slight signs of wear in the toes. One pair of stockings lasted a distance of 100 miles before a small hole appeared in the toe. Of "ladders" there was no sign. When Miss James left from her starting point, she said that she weighed exactly Bst, but on her arrival in Auckland, having eaten only New Zealand foods throughout the journey, she weighed Bst 91b. After having obtained a first-hand knowledge of how New Zealand's primary products are produced, Miss James intends next year to venture forth on a walking tour through England, advertising the same products. Meantime elie will remain in Auckland about 10 days, and. then set out for Hamilton. Miss James is enlisting on her way the co-operation of the Mayors of the various towns through which she passes. So far all the Mayors but two have assisted her.
