"SCARFACE" KEEPS BUSY

MACHINES FOR AUSTRALIA.

CHICAGO, January 14.

Though, naturally, "Scarface" Al. Capone and his associates do not make their "business" dealings public, it is generally believed that his syndicate is directing the operations of many slot machines and fruit gambling devices that have been sent to Australia for operation on license.

People who think that Capone is idling away his time in the county gaol while awaiting the disposal of his appeals and the final orders removing him to Leavenworth Penitentiary simply don't know Capone.

Recently he has been occupying the hospital suite in the county gaol, receiving his lieutenants in daily conferences and conducting his gigantic business affairs quite as easily as he did from his luxurious quarters in the Lexington Hotel.
