Opening Favourite Does it.—A Very Worthy Queen.

'All but three faced the starter in the Selby Handicap. Worthy Queen was favourite, carrying £1001. On Welcome Guy, second favourite, there was £557, ' and on Bessie Parrish, the third fancy, £408. At the start Parrish Belle, Effigy and Welcome-Guy broke, and when they settled down Leo Mauritius was leading from Caballero, Colonel Thorpe, Worthy Queen and Windchat. Passing the stand the order was Worthy Queen, Caballero, Welcome Guy, Windchat, Moko Girl and Bessie Parrish. They were not strung out at all, and along the back Worthy Queen was leading Caballero, Welcome Guy, Windchat, Moko Girl and Bessie Parrish. Welcome Guy was going well at that ' stage, but he broke. Worthy Queen turned for home first, followed by Caballero, Windchat and Bessie Parrish. Worthy Queen went on to win easily by . two and a half lengths from Caballera, with Windchat third. Nelson Tasker was soon in front, followed by-Meteor, Muriel de Oro, Stanmoor, Genuine, Golden Pedro and Royal Silk. Passing the stands the first time Nelson Tasker waa attended by Meteor, Royal Silk, Stanmoor,. Genuine, Golden Pedro and .Mountain Dell. When they came •round again, Nelson Tasker still held his- position from Royal Silk, Stanmoor, Muriel de Oro, Golden Pedro, Torpedo Hiion, Pluto and Reremai. Going out of ihe straight, Torpedo Huon broke and interfered with Golden Pedro and seveWl; other, and along "the back Stanmoor broke, interfering with Auto Machine, who "fell. Nelson Tasker was followed across the top by Royal Silk, Muriel de Oro, Pluto and Mountain Dell. The order was the same into the straight, where Royal Silk took charge to win by .. three-quarters of a length from Muriel de Oro, who beat Pluto by half a length.
