WESTFIELD WEEKLY SALE. STEADY DEMAND AT PAR VALUES. The New Zealand Loan arid Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day beef was ■ penned in more than average numbers. There was a steady demand, with- little or no change in values, and quotations are on a par with last week's sale. Extra choice ox sold to 23/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 20/ to 22/; secondary and plain, 17/ to 19/; prime young cow and heifer-beef, 19/ to 22/; secondary, 14/ to 18/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £9 5/ to- £.10 17/6; heavy, -68 to £9 2/6; lighter, £7 to £7 17/6; light, £6 to £6 17/6; small and unfinished, £4 10/ to £5 17/6. Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £5 10/ to £6 5/; heavy, £4 17/ to £5 7/6; lighter, £4 to £4 12/6; light, £3 to £3 : 17/6;. others, £1 10/ to £2 15/. . Alfred Buekland and Son., Ltd., report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day our supply of fat cattle totalled 274 head, comprising 177 steers and 97 cows and heifers, as against 302 at last Wednesday's market. The quality generally was first-class. Competition was less keen, and values were slightly easier. Extra choice ox sold to 23/ per 1001b: choice and prime, 20/' to 22/; second and plain, 17/ to 19/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 20/ to 22/; secondary, 10/ to 19/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £9 to £9 17/6; lighter, £7 15/ to £8 17/6; light, £6 10/ to £7 12/6; small and unfinished, £4 10/ to £6 7/6. Extra heavy priine young cows and heifers, £5 10/ to £6;5/; heavy, £4 15/ to £5 7/6; lighter, £3 10/ to £4 12/6; others, £1 15/ to £3 7/6. I Dalget/ and Co., Ltd., report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day ox beef came forward in larger numbers than last week, the quality being first-class. Although the demand was steady late values were not maintained. Cow and heifer beef was yarded in averaged numbers. Here also values receded on late rates. Extra choice ox eold. to 23/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 20/ to 22/; secondary and plain, 17/ to 19/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 20/ to 22/; secondary, 9/ to 19/.
