RAILWAY SECTIONS.
PRACTICALLY NO DEMAND; "Very well; there is apparently no demand for property justf now, but we are ready to treat privately for any of these sections," said Mr. L. E. Coakley, of Messrs. G. Walker and Company, when winding up the auction this morning of six railway property leases in Beach Road. No. 1 section was the comer lot at the junction of Beach Road and Breakwater Road, one of the busiest spots in town. After a lot of hesitation someone in the small audience" bid £150, and that was the onfy offer, but it did not reach the upset rental fixed, and the section was , passed in. Seetions'2, 4, o, 6 and 7, fronting Beach Road, were put up, but .none of them attracted an offer, and they were all passed in. The leases were for 21 years, with right of renewal for a similar term.
