CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB. The usual fortnightly shoot of the Metropolitan Gun Club was held on Saturday. The chief event was a 15-bird match for a trophy donated by Messrs. "W. H. Tisdall, Limited, and resulted in a ,tie between J. Gribble and L. Peterson, Gribble winning in the shoot-off on the 21st bird. Results:— Seven-bird Sweepstake. — J. Gribble (13yds), G. OS. Brown (20yds), L. Peterson (17yds), A. E. Macredie (17yds), tied with the possible and divided the stake. Second Match of 15 Birds, for Messrs. W. H. Tisdall, Ltd., Trophy.— J. . Gribble (13yds), and L. Peterson (17yds), shot 14 each and divided the stake. In the shootoff of five birds each they were again equal, and continuing Peterson missed the next bird, Gribble winning the trophy. Ten-bird Sweepstake.—.T. Gribble (14 yds), R. 11. Bartley (14yds), J. Miller (13yds), J. Malcolm (12yds), shot nine each and divided the stake. Seven-bird Match, Gymcrack.— J. Miller (12yds to 18yds), shot the possible and took first money. K.H. Bartley (13yds to 10yds), C. B. Hodge (16yds to 21yds), I/. Peterson (14yds to 20yds) divided second money. The club will hold its Christmas shoot next Saturday.

TAUMARUNUI ROD AND GUN CLUB,

The Taumarunui Rod and Gun Club held a clay-bird shoot during the week-end. The shoot for the clock attracted six competitors. A. J. Richards, F. E. Cox and J. Brown tied with 14 birds each, and in the shoot-off Richards missed with his ninth shot. Cox and Brown went on shooting, and Cox became the winner after breaking 47 clays. Brown broke 40 clays and won the second prize. Results: — First Shoot, 7 birds. — J. Ozanne (17yds) and A. J. Richards (17yds) tied for first place with 7 birds each. Second Shoot, 7 birds.—G. Bretherton (18yds), A. J. Richards (lSyds), and F. B. Cox (19yds) tied for first place with the possible and divided the prize. Harris Cup, 15 birds.—G. Bretherton (18yds) and A. J. Richards (lCyds) tied with 14 birds each.

Clock Shoot, 15 birds.— A. J. Richards (lSyds), F. B. Cos (18yds) and J. Brown (13yds) tied with 14 birds. In the shootoff Cox broke 47 clays for first place. Brown was second with 46 clays. Rice's Cup, 9 birds.—B. Lightfoot (18yds) and J. Ozanne (16yds) tied with 9 birds each, and Lightfoot won the shootoff. Double Rise, 6 pairs.— J. Brown (11yds), 11 birds, 1; E. Lightfoot (9yds), 9 birds, *> Gimcrack Shoot, 10 birds.— J. Brown 1, J. Ozanne 2.
