SERVICE TO EDUCATION. HEADMASTER AT BELMONT. MR. R. HARRISON RETIRING. After 19 years or service, In which the school under his charge has grown from one accommodated in three rooms to one of some 600 pupils, Mr. Rupert Harrison, headmaster of the Belmont School, Takapuna, is to retire- on Saturday. There will be a farewell ceremony in the school grounds. The growth of the school is closely connected with the faithful service rendered by Mr. Harrison. Then in 1924 an infant school of four rooms was added. Mr. T. Leitch was the chairman of the school committee for the first six years and for the past four years. Mrs. F. E. N. Gaudin has been a member of the body for 16 years.
