OTTAWA CONFERENCE.

SPEEDING UP ARRANGEMENTS.

LONDON, December 2,

It is now definitely announced that the Dominions Secretary, Mr. J. H. Thomas, has cancelled the Empire tour he had proposed to make next spring. The presence of the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. R. B. Bennett, in London has enabled Mr. Thomas to discuss questions of mutual concern, but an exchange of views with the other Dominions will be conducted through the usual channels. The Parliamentary correspondent of the "Daily Express" states that the Government is speeding up its plans for the Empire Economic Conference ■ at Ottawa, which it is hoped, will be held early in July. .: >
