WRITTEN WINS MILE AND HALF. Last evening at Khyber Pass Road track Hie Auckland Cycle Club hold a one mile and a hnlE handicap. The track was fast and a/ , splendid field of 17 necessitated two heats and final. Results :— First Heat.—M. Hibburt, 180 yds, 1; 0. Porter, 240 yds, 2 V.N; Wliyte, 170 yds, 3; .T. Wade, sc'r, 4. Won by a length. Time, 3.02. Second Heat. —J. Wliittpn, scr, 1; W. Archer, 180 yds, 2: A. Mackrell, lSOyds, !!:.K. Rao,- 170 yds, •!. Won by two lengths. Time, 8.03 1-5. Final. —J. Whiffrn, scr, 1 : K. Rae. 170 yds, 2: X. WJjyt'e, 170 yds, 3; M. Hibburt, ISOj'ds, 4. Time, 3.47; Wliitt.pn left Wade witli half a mile to go, and setting after tlie leaders caught them just before the bell In p. Going to the front down the back, Rae went with him, but held the advantage to win by a length, Wliyte two lengths away. The winner rode with fine judgment.
