MOTOR TRUCK'S CAPSIZE.
WOMAN FATAIXY INJURED
VERDICT OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH.
The adjourned inquest into the death of Mrs. Daisy Maud McCarthy, aged 50, of 119, Franklin Road, Ponsonby, who died in the Auckland Hospital on October 27, following injuries received when a motor truck capsized near Henderson on October 23, was reopened before the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday.
The driver, Norman George Ebbutt, said the truck was carrying a load of furniture, and there were four passengers, including Mrs. McCarthy. Near the junction of Te Atatu and Great South Roads, the steering gear locked while the vehicle was' turning the corner. The truck skidded on the wet surface of the road and 'capsized over a bank. Three of the passengers were injured and taken to hospital.
Medical evidence was given that Mre. McCarthy • had suffered, shock and concussion, and fractures of the ribs, her left, arm and her left leg.
The coroner returned a verdict of accidental death.
