ELECTION RESULTS.
DISPLAY BY "STAR." COMPLETE ARRANGEMENTS. SCREEN AND LOUD-SPEAKER. As on former occasions, complete arrangements have been made by. the "Auckland Star" for displaying the results of the general election !on Wednesday night. The progress returns for the 70 European constituencies, as they come to hand, will be flashed on to a large screen on the Fort Street frontage of the '•Star's" building, and a supplementary service will be provided by way of loudspeaker announcements. Polling at the various booths will close at 7 p.m., and, as a result of the arrangements made by the "Star," the first results should appear 011 the screen.shortly afterwards. For the Auckland city and suburban seats, polling place as well as aggregate returns will be exhibited. In the case of the outside constituencies the progress aggregates only will be screened. Regular announcements will be made as to the state of the parties and a running commentary given on the fluctuations of the fbrtunes of the political contestants. From 7 p.m. until 11 p.ml Fort Street and Commerce Street, where the watching crowds will congregate, will be closed to vehicular traffic. Motorists are strongly advised against parking cars in either? street, since those in the crowd on the search for points of vantage are not likely to "overlook such convenient elevations as. motor-car running boards, bonnets or hood?. As all the office telephones will be engaged in the collection of election results/it will not be possible to answer any telephone inquiries as to the progress of the polls.
