TWO OUTRIGHT WINS. MOUNT ALBERT OLD BOYS AGAIN. RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY. Two outright victories were registered in the second series of Suburban Cricket Association "matches, which was completed at the Domain on Saturday afternoon. The weather, which had been fine early in the afternoon, broke about 5.30 arid heavy rain caused play to be abandoned. Harbour Board scored an innings victory over R.V. In reply to the former s first innings total of 231, the latter made 107 and were forced to follow on. They fared little better in their second knock and we.re all out for 108, giving Harbour Board the game by an innings and 16 runs. Green Lane's first innings produced 215 as against Invicta's 97, so that the latter had- to follow on. Their second mmngs amounted to 126, leaving Green Lane nine to get for an outright victory. Although it was raining heavily, three or four of the Invicta men turned out and bowled easy ones to Scarborough, who hit three boundaries off three balls. Green Lane thus won by ten wickets. Ponsonby were 46 behind Mount Albeit Old Boj's at the conclusion of their innings, and the latter declared their second innings closed with seven wickets down for 67. FRIENDLY GAME AT DEVONPORT
A match between the Devouport Bdrougli Council Club and Henderson and Pollard s team was played at Devonpoft on Saturday. The local team, in the first innings, scored 37 (Foster 19, Lans 7), and in the second innings no wickets for 37 (Oliph-iut .10, Foster 17). The Tutors scored oO ( Furlonger 10, Haynes 12, Grimmer 7), and Jn the second innings 04 (Henderson «A Grimmer 30, Gray 15, Wells 10).
GAMES IN THE PROVINCE. THAMES ASSOCIATION. The Thames Cricket Association held a further round of cup matches on Saturday, when High School gained a two-poiut win from City, while Karaka scored a similar win from Tararu. In the former match, High School closed the inniugs with 95 (M. Baker 52 not out, Pedrotti 10). Bowliug:-Crawford-Watson six for 26, Gibson four for 47: City were all disposed of for 91 {Gibson 28 not out, Crawford-Watson 21, Hoyle 14). Bowling: Baker four for 3", Head three for 40, Pedrotti three for 5. When High School had lost four wickets for 53 in its second innings rain caine on and prevented further play. Karaka had a long spell at.the wickets against Tararu, and scored 205 (R. Buchnn 67 not out. G. Buclinn 47, Twentyniiiu 20, Sowerby 10, Smith 14). Bowling: Billing four for 51, Morgan three for 49. R. Buchan one for 8, Hoyle one for 15. Tararu scored 4S only, and followed on, rain caiising cessation of play after three wickets had fallen. HAMILTON. The second series of games in the Hamilton Club competitions conducted by the South Auckland Cricket Association, which commenced a fortnight ago, was concluded at Seddon Park, Hamilton and Frankton United scoring throe-point wins on the first innings over Old Boys and Hamilton East respectively. Hamilton, which had compiled 116 runs for the loss of two wickets in the first day's play, carried the total to 170. Old Boys could only reach 91 (Smith 82). Frankton United increased its first innings total from 69, which had been scored with the loss of nine wickets, to 75, and Hamilton East replied with 62 (Going 31). In its second innings Frankton United had scored 70 runs for three wickets when play ended. WAIHI FIXTURE. At Waihi, on Saturday, Martha beat Veterans on the first innings by 50 runs. Veterans made 41 (Leadbeater 14). Bowling: Potier four for 9, Long two for 11, Worthington two for 13. Martha declared at 100 for seven wickets (Worthington 31, Stace 21, Roberts 16, Potier 12). Bowling: Peacock five for 34.
