JUNIOR CONDUCTS CASE.

When a land sale dispute from Waimate "North, in the Bay of Islands district, was resumed before Mr. Justice Smith in the Supreme Court to-day it was stated that Mr. H. P. Richmond, counsel for plaintiffs, had become suddenly ill on Friday evening, at the' end of the second day of the hearing, and was unable to continue the case. Mr. M, R. Reed, who was junior counsel, said Mr. Richmond had been admitted to a private hospital in a serious condition. He had, however, somewhat improved. As the parties wished to avoid the expense and delay of' adjourning the case and obtaining a fixture for" next year, Mr. Reed said he had been asked to conduct the case. His. Honor expressed regret at Mr. Riehniond's illness. The case wae then continued.
