Worker Passes,
DEATH DURING WIFE'S BURIAL.

LONDON, November 27.
The death is announced of Sir David. Bruce after a long illness. He passed away while, the funeral of his wife, who flipd on November 23, was taking place, Sir David's travels in disease stricken countries in the cause of science, which were carried out under conditions of great hardship, brought him world, fame but "seriously impaired hip health. His wife accompanied him Oil many hazardous expeditions. ■ j . ' •>"
Major-General Sir David Bruce was. born in Melbourne, find educated in land. He took up a military career, serving in Malta, Egypt, and South Africa (Ladyemith). Ho spent long periods in Uganda with his military medical corps, studying sleeping sickness, and his results were highly valued, He then went to Malta to study Mediterranean fever, to N.vaesaland to conduct researches in the relation between human and cattle diseases. He was president of the British Association in 1924, and held honours and prizes from many British and European academies, colleges and scientific institutes.
