AUCKLAND BIBLE SOCIETY.
RECORD YEAR'S WORK
REVIEW AT ANNUAL MEETING,
The 85th annual meeting of the Auckland auxiliary- of the -British and Foreign Bible Society was held in the Pitt Street Methodist .Church, Archbishop Averill presiding. . _ The archbishop said that the circulation of the Scriptures for 1931 had exceeded all records, with the exception of 1929. Nearly 12,000,000 copies had been circulated by the society and the Scriptures had been translated into 14 new languages. There was an increase in the circulation of the Scriptures in Moslem lands. The financial position, he said, had been wonderful and if it had not been for the difficulty of exchange keeping the money back, 1931 would have been a record year from the financial point of
view. The Rev. L. B. Fletcher expressed confidence in the faith that the world was on the verge of a great religious revival, and a tribute to the great service that the Bible Society gives to churches and missionary societies was paid by the Rev. E. D. Patchctt.
