What is described as a munificent offer has been made by Mr. F. H. Stewart, governing director of the Metropolitan Omnibus Company. He has announced his willingness to transfer gratuitously a fleet of 90 large buses, worth about £100,000, to the Government provided it will use them in the service of the community and reemploy ihe original bus crews. The Transport Board is considering whether it can avail itself of the offer. Practically all the metropolitan' motor buses ceased running recently owing to heavy taxation. Mr. Stewart is the financial backer of Mr. Norman ("Wizard") Smith.'

Mr. Sydney Mycr informed the director of the National Prosperity Campaign that he has decided to provide £10,000 immediately to give work to 1000 married men with families for two weeks. The work will be at award rates during December.

The Crown has entered a nolle prosequi against Philip James Mond and William Victor Cunningham, who were charged with conspiracy to defraud persons desirous of becoming shareholders in the Britannia Bank, Limited, and other companies they were forming.
