Dr. A. N. McKelvey, medical superintendent of the Auckland Infirmary, is a patient in the Wallace Ward at the Public Hospital. Mr. Julian B. Foster, of Wellington, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. E. Tonneson, of 'Sydney, is at Hotel Cargen. Sir Cyril Ward has been- appointed to the vacancy oil the directorate of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand caused by the death of Mr. A. Morten. Mr. John Fuller, of Sydney, a director of Fuller's Theatres, Ltd., is on a visit to Wellington. Mr. E Malfroy, ma'nager of the Hastings branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has been transferred to Sydney, and will leave New Zealand early next month. Mr. Howard Moody, formerly house manager and organist at the Civic Theatre, Auckland, has been appointed to a similar position at the De Luxe Theatre, Wellington. Professor J. Shelley, professor of education at Canterbury College, Christchurch, will leave for San Francisco by the Sierra this month to make a tour of America under the auspices of the Carnegie Institute.

Archdeacon R. Creed Meredith, formerly of Wanganui, who recently accepted the living of Chesunt, St. Al'bans, offered him by the Marquis of Salisbury, has decided to remain in England.
