NEW POST OFFICE.

] BIRKENHEAD REQUEST REFUSED.

The Postmaster-General, the Hon. A. Hamilton, has declined to entertain the suggestion that a central post office should be erected at Highbury. The Minister said that the post office at Birkenhead was situated only a little I over half a mile from Highbury, and i altho?jgh the majority of business people were established at Highbury, they were | well served by the present office.

The borough council last night decided to ask that a branch office be opened at Highbury.
