SUNDAY SCHOOLS.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Services were held yesterday in connection with the anniversary of the i Mortlicote Methodist Sunday School, and are to be continued next Sunday, Ihe Kev. Jr. A. Thompson, of the Ndrthcote Presbyterian Church, officiated in the afternoon, the Rev. E. B. Tiusley in the morning, and the Rev. W. W. Avery in the evening. Under the conductorship of Mr. A. i>. Sharpe, the children acquitted themselyss creditably in the singing, which included solos, duets, part songs, and choruses. All three services yesterday were largely attended in commemoration of the anniversary' of the Birkenhead Presbyterian Sunday School. The Rev'. Win. McDonald officiated in the, morning,, .the Rev. In Busfield in the afternoon, and the Kev. 1. J. Wainwright in the evening, faolos weresung by Master Desmond Casey at the afternoon and evening services, and by Master Charles Burnett in, the morning.. Special" einging,' under the • conductorslup of Mr. B. Hillam, materially assisted in the success of the gatherings.

. The sixty-seventh anniversary of Nekton Congregational Sunday. School was celebrated by special services yesterday. Pastor E. C. Grey, of. New Lynn, preached in the morning, the Rev. A. V. Whiting addressed the gathering in the afternoon, and the Rev. 'George Heighway preached in the. The singing of the scholars, assisted by the choir, and conducted-by Mr. John Bquskill, was. .excellent. A welcome was tendered old scholars by Mr,. Frank Rowe, superintendent of the bunday School. A few of those who attended the opening of the school in the Orange ilaH, Karangahape Road, were present at tne services. A reunion of old scholars is to be held next Wednesday evening.
