SIMONSEN BEATS RICHARDSON

.Jimmy Simonsen, of Blenheim, •making his first professional appearance, took a points, decision over Fred Richardson, of Wellington, in a ten-round light-weight •boxing contest. There was some clever boxing, Richardson in particular displaying considerable defensive skill. Simonsen made the fighting his opponent attacking too spasmodically to retake the points deficiency on the early rounds.
TURNER TOO GOOD FOR LISTER

GREYMOUTH, Sunday
In a professional boxing contest, Len Turner, of Nelson (list 21b), defeated Harry Lister, of Greymouth (list 91b), on points in a ten-round bout. The winner was the .better infighter, although Lister hit harder.
