FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS QUIET. WAIHIS SLIP BACK. Business on the local Stock Exchange is rather quiet, and only a few sales have been recorded during the past 24 hours. A notable feature has been a further easing in Wailris, as a consequence of fears that heavy additional taxation may be imposed upon the company. The scrip sold at 17/ early in the week. At the fresh bidding there was a fair all-round inquiry, but no other business resulted. In the banking section holders of Australasias advanced their reserves to £8 21, and lowest seller of Commercials asked 13/9. Buyers for' P. and 0. deferred stock offered £13/. Breweries were in demand, and a buyer came in for Tooheys at 12/. Rawang tin shares were quoted ex div., with buyers at 4/3. The Noon Call. At the noon call buyers for Commercial Banks moved up to 13/6, and for New Zealands £2 3/8 was offered. _ A bidder for P. and O: stock raised his price to £1 3/b. Woolworths pref. shares were quoted ex div., with buyers at £1 3/6. New Zealand Breweries were firm, with buyers at ii 9/9, and sellers asking £1 10/2.
