SCHOOL STEEPLECHASE.

MT. ALBERT GRAMMAR EVENT CHAMPIONSHIP TO W. KBDGLBY. In fine weather Mount Albert Grammar School held its annual. steeplechase yesterday, which commenced from the school grounds, thence round the mountain and back to the school. There were 275 competing, a number considerably emaller tins year than in previous years, owing to the prevalence of influenza. W Kedgley won the senior championship in 16.1, which does not compare very favourably with 'the record put up by W. A. Brlggs last year of 15.30. Two juniors, T Ker and J. Hare, performed well by finishing second and third respectively. Several old boys took part in the race, and it is hoped next season to have a teams race between past and present boys. The race resulted as follows!—Senior Championship.—W. Kedgley, 16.1, I; T. Ker, 16.35, 2; J. Hare, 16.41, 3. The junior championship waa won by Ker, and Hare was second. T. S. Sampson, 17.42, was third. . Senior Handicap.—B. J. Mar«e (2.0), 17 34, 1; A. G. Dagenkolbe (2.30), 17.55, 2. Junior: C. H. Howard (200s), 18.17, 1; K.
