LONDON, September 25,
The "Evening Standard" asserts that the Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald, will, on September 30, announce the dissolution of Parliament and an immediate election on a tariffs and Empire policy.
The announcement, of an almost immediate general election may be regarded as an "intelligent anticipation." So much has been written on this subject in the past fortnight that it seems impossible that it can be st&ved off. Apart from one or two notable exceptions, the Press regards the appeal by the National Government under the leadership of Mr. Mac Donald as a necessary evil.
Mr. Mac Donald's return from his holiday had the effect of increasing this anticipation. Most commentators see in it the removal of all their doubts, also an early appeal, and endorse the "Evening Standard's" exclusive announcement. V
