MOUNT ST. JOSEPH.

HOME AT WAIKOWHAI.

The good work among unfortunate women such as that done at the Mount Magdala Home in Christchurch is being extended to Auckland by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. The Order secured the large prominently-situated twostoreyed house known as Arkle's, on the high point above Waikowhai, on the shores of the Manukau. Several thousands of pounds were spent in fitting the house for the purpose, and there are ample grounds attached to the property. The opening ceremony will take place on Sunday afternoon, and the importance of the occasion is such that three bishops will take part—Bishop Liston, of Auckland, Bishop Brodie, of Chrifitchurch, and Bishop Whyte, of Dunedin. In honour of the visiting bishops a conversazione is to be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday next.
