Won by four lengths;.; length second and third. - j The message does not state if Cainer-j oriian, who won the Two Thousand; Guineas and the Derby, started. He was! looked upon, as' being the hardest to beat,j and it was fully anticipated that he would, add this event to his list of successes, and; thus become one of that select band knownas. the Triple Crown winners. The last; 'to.-;'win the three races—Two Thousand,) Derby and St. Leger—was Gainsborough j in 1918. Sandwich, the winner of the! St; Leger, had his first start this season; in the Craven Stakes, one mile, at New-| market, in which lie ran unplaced.; ; Cameronian was third in' that race. His next start was in the Two Thousand] Guineas, won by Cameronian, and again! lie failed to get into the money.
