SINGLE MEN'S PAY.
There are a good many single men getting two days' relief work for three weeks. In a great many other cases the car fare comes to two shillings., Some men are out of work one week in four. If they are lucky enough to get the whole six days, which a great many do not get, they earn the grand total of £2 14/ a month. Is it possible for a man to pay f<* a room and live in it, and if he cannot pay the levy he cannot get any more work? Then there is no other remedy for them but to go to the Charitable Aid Board or starve. - JOHN GALETT.
