In the final of the men's singles at the Eastern States lawn tennis championships at Rye, F. J. Perry (Britain) defeated Gilbert Hall (New Jersey), 6—3, 6—2, 6—4. In the opening round on Monday of the Casino invitation tournament at Newport Perry (England) eliminated Nordstrom (Seattle), 6—2, 6—4; Hughes (England) defeated Hobbs (Newport), G—3, 6—4.
