LAMBS ON CONSIGNMENT.
Farmers who shipped their fat lambs to London on their own account, says a Southland correspondent are m many r°i s receiving their credits and the results are very satisfactory. Several fair-sized lines weighing round about 3olb with a good proportion of seconds are returning fatteners between 17/ and 18/ net on their farms, which, - of- course is much better than could have been obtained at the time of shipping. It w stated that both freezing and mercantile companies insisted in every way and indeed encouraged clients to chance the Home market fn preference to accepting the values ruling at the commencement of the season, and should prices next season open at a low level it is a sure thing that most of K Southland iambs will-be shipped on owner';'; aecowt. i r
