WHAKATANE, Monday.
A badminton match was played at Whakatane this week between Waimana and Whakatane teams, and resulted in a win for Whakatane by 21 games to 3. The scores are as follow (Waimana players first) :—
Men's Smiles.—D. Bull lost to R. Wilson, 2—11; T. Costello lost to T. Stamp, 3—11; 11. Bell lost to J. Hignett, 6—11; H. • Wardlaw lost to L. Prideaux, 4 —11; D. Wardlaw lost to L. Cato, 5—11; C. Mclvor lost to H. Morgan, 10—11.
Ladies' Singles.—Mrs. Hewitt lost to Miss A. Morgau, 4—11; Mrs. T. Wardlaw beat Mrs. Timbs, 11—10; Miss G. Thomas beat Miss H. Morgan. 11 —9; Miss J. Neilson lost to Mrs. Prideaux, 9—11; Mrs. Hodgson lost to Miss K. Laing, 6—11; Mrs. H. Bell lost to Miss M. Righton, I—ll.
Men's Doubles.—Bull and Wardlaw lost to Stamp and Hignett, 6 -13; Costello and Bell lost to Wilson and Prideaux, 6 —13; Mclvor and H. Wardlaw lost to Cato and Morgan, 10—13.
