THIEF IN NIGHT.

MOUNT ALBERT BURGLARY. SUBURBAN HOME RANSACKED. SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY TAKEN. A thief got into the home of Mr. Arthur E. Fowler, 21, Mount Albert Road, during last night and stole £4, the money being taken from two purses. Mr. Fowler discovered this morning that every room had been visited, and that he was "lucky not to lose a valuable watch and chain which had been left near one of the purses. Mr. Fowier was awaXened at 1 o'clock this, morning, by someone talking, outside the house, but as it was not continued he went to sleep again.
