BRITISH PROTESTANT BODY.
SECTARIANISM DENOUNCED. SUPPORT FOR MR. FORBES. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. The Dominion executive of the newlyformed British Protestant Association, at a meeting, representative of all parts of New Zealand, held in Wellington today, adopted the following resolutions unanimously: — (1) That in the present grave crisis through which the Dominion is passing, it is imperative that all loyal citizens, above and beyond all considerations of religious or political creed, should coopcratfe with the Government to maintain our national security and integrity.
(2) That the appeal of the Prime Minister for support of a National Government is heartily endorsed as the best means of meeting the crisis and hastening return to prosperity.
(3) That this association deplores any attempt, particularly at a time of national peril, to divide the community by sectarian issues, often falsely and insidiously promulgated by ungodly and unscrupulous paid agents.
• (4) That an earnest appeal be made to the Christian churches to boldly stand for principles above party, for charity above sectarianism, for country above self, and thus to promote the highest possible citizenship.
(5) That this association stand'by the open Bible as the nation's charter of civil and religious liberty, and appeals to all Christians to support the Bible-in-Schools League in its effort to securn Bible-reading in schools as agreed to by all the main Protestant churches and by the Catholic hierarchv.
