Arrested yesterday morning by Detective Knight, Albeit Edward Austin, aged 21, a labourer, appeared at the Police Court this morning. He was charged with breaking and entering by day the dwelling'of William Francis Nicholson, Haekett Street, Ponsonby, on August 12, ami stealing jewellery and clothing of a total value of £10.

"There arc other charges that have to be inquired into," said Detective-Ser-geant Kelly, who obtained a remand until August 25.
