After dinner the e president, Mr. J. Gordon Smith, wels coined on behalf of the league the Rev. E. D. Patchett. chairman of the New Zead land Methodist Conference; the Rev. Harry > Johnson, chairman of the Congregational * Union of New Zealand; the Rev. Dr. C. H. j- Laws and Rev. Mr. Blight. Regret was it expressed at the absence of the principal d of the college, Dr. Ranston, through lIId ness. e The Rev. Mr. Johnson, in welcoming e the students, congratulated the league on »f its fine work. After dinner Mr. John « McDougall gave three songs and also a samples of Scottish humour. Miss Mci- Dougall and Miss Daphne High am supplied the piano and violin accompaniments. ; t The Rev. Mr. Patchett gave an int teresting talk on "The Great Youth d Problem of To-day."
