AVONDALE TRAMS.
RESIDENTS' DEPUTATION.
LOCAL BODIES TO DECIDE.
Representatives of the Avondale Development Association to-day waited on the chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, with a request that the Avondale extension should be pushed on without further delay. Speakers expressed fear that the difficulties over the Oakley Stream and Avondale overhead railway bridge might indefinitely delay the prosecution of the work and cause the section to end at Oak lev Stream. Mr.' W. F. Stilwell; Mayor of Mount Albert, who was present by invitation, explained the position in reference to the Oaklev Stream culvert. Mr."Allum assured the deputation that there would be no delay as far ae the board was concerned. As soon as the local authorities interested arrived at a decision in respect to the stream, the excavations and other work would be pushed on without delay, and before the n?w culvert was constructed.
