At a conference of manufacturers and retailere called-to discuss practical measures for stimulating local industries, the following motions were carried: — That this meeting suggests that it is in the best interests of the country that • the policy of retailers should be to give full preference to New Zealandmade goods wherever practicable. That manufacturers of New Zealand goods be asked to co-operate with retailere by advertising their goods and offering to employ definitely an extra number .of people and to reduce the prices of their goods in' ratio to increased sales.
