POSTMASTER'S VIEWS.

The Auckland Chamber of Commerce tliis morning decided to take no action 011 a suggestion from the Auckland Civic League that mail bags should be placed on trams for one hour on Sundays, to enable people living out of town to cateli the Main Trunk without making a special journey into town. _ The Chief Postmaster, Mr. S. M. Harrison, said the bags would need supervision, and if they were placed on trams there would in no time be requests for bags on ferry boats and buses. The system would also become expensive. r * M. Seaman, the president, moved that the league be informed of Mr. Harrison's remarks, and that the chamber take no action. This course was adopted.
