A FUSION SUGGESTION.
As the political party leaders cannot arrive at any agreement re the fusion of parties, might'l suggest to the committees of gentlemen in each"centre who desire such a state in. the present emergency that they arrange to run as a candidate in each electorate at the forthcoming poll one who will definitely stand as a Fusionist, not one who is of party, but one who declares he lias Fusionist idea*.' Politica] promises are worthless. The candidate selected should definitely and publicly declare he will remain a Fusionist for three years, at the end of which period he could revert to party if he wished. Before the end of three years we would be enjoying sunny economic weather. Candidates can be drawn from the present parties or from new men. This would give us, the people, who really matter, a, chance to dictate to Parliament what we desire. HOPEFUL.
