INDEPENDENCE DAY.
In celebration of Independence Day a luncheon was given in the Milne and Choyce reception hall on Saturday, by Mr. W. F. Boyle, United States Consul in Auckland, and Mrs. Boyle. The room looked very attractive for the occasion. The Stars and Stripes and the Union Jack were draped on the stage, while the New Zealand flag was hung at the back of the hall. During luncheon the orchestra played a number of wellknown American airs, which were greatly enjoyed by the guests. Among those invited were: The Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. G. W.
