EX-SERVICEMEN'S SOCIAL.

A social and dance was held in the Buffalo Hall, Birkenhead, on Saturday night, under the auspices of the Birkenhead Ex-Servicemen's Association. Songs were given by Mrs. S. T. Carter, Mrs. F. Tothill, Mrs. C. Davenport, Mr. S. T. Carter, and whistling solos by Mr. C. C. Purdy. The piano accompaniments were played by Miss Mavis Hewson and Mr. Peter Black. Among those present were: Mrs. C. G. Ashdowne, who wore black satin and lace; Mrs. J. W. Canty, floral ninon; Mrs. Tothill, fuchsia tinsel and gold lace; Mrs. C. C. Roberts, apricot crepe de chine; Mrs. Goulden, charmaine rose silk, floral velvet coat; Mrs. Hilton, black lace over blue silk; Mrs. Burn, black georgette, floral tulle; Mrs. Beason, lemon sili; Mrs. Joy, navy floral georgette; Mrs. Thorburn, moonlight blue satin; Mrs. F. Pugh, black and white georgette; Mrs. F. Lees, white satin and georgette; Miss O. Harnden, shaded orange tulle; Miss Stayte, salmon georgette; Miss M. Laurie, pink taffeta;' Miss T.
