EX-SERVICEMEN'S SOCIAL.
A social and dance was held in the Buffalo Hall, Birkenhead, on Saturday night, under the auspices of the Birkenhead Ex-Servicemen's Association. Songs were given by Mrs. S. T. Carter, Mrs. F. Tothill, Mrs. C. Davenport, Mr. S. T. Carter, and whistling solos by Mr. C. C. Purdy. The piano accompaniments were played by Miss Mavis Hewson and Mr. Peter Black. Among those present were: Mrs. C. G. Ashdowne, who wore black satin and lace; Mrs. J. W. Canty, floral ninon; Mrs. Tothill, fuchsia tinsel and gold lace; Mrs. C. C. Purdy, lemon taffeta and lace; Mrs. Davenport, black and silver; Mrs. L. Gilpin, black and green chenille georgette; Mrs. E. J. Sinel, silver lame and crepe de chine; Mrs. Myers, pink georgette and silver; Mrs. A. Gracie, red crepe de chine; Mrs. W. Roberts, apricot crepe de chine; Mrs. Goulden, charmaine rose silk, floral velvet coat; Mrs. Hilton, black lace over blue silk; Mrs. Burn, black georgette, floral tulle; Mrs. Beason, lemon sili; Mrs. Joy, navy floral georgette; Mrs. Thorburn, moonlight blue satin; Mrs. F. Pugh, black and white georgette; Mrs. F. Lees, white satin and georgette; Miss O. Harnden, shaded orange tulle; Miss Stayte, salmon georgette; Miss M. Laurie, pink taffeta;' Miss T. Couch, silk lace; Miss F. Tothill, turquoise blue velvet; Miss E. Nelson, pink crepe de chine and lace; Miss S. Pugh, black crepe de chine and silver; Miss Sybil Mentzer, blue ninon; Miss Ina Bregmen, white satin and shawl; Miss Queenie Sutcliffe, frock of green ninon; Miss L. Mackie, coral rose moire; Miss J.
