WHANGAREI NOTES.
Miss Christina Ormiston, Wellington, lias been the guest of Mrs. Clayton Thorne, Main's Avenue, for a sliort visit. Miss Marion Hayes, Kaitaia, was a visitor to Whaiigarei for tlie High School jubilee celebrations. Mrs. Fox, of Halston Road,. Auckland, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Wells, Mill Road. Mrs. Bannister, Rawene, was a recent visitor to Whangarei as the guest of Mrs. D. O'Donoghue, Mill Road. Mrs. Reynolds, Drummond Street, has returned from a motor trip to Auckland.
Mrs. J. McEnnis, Hatea Street, was hostess at a farewell bridge party held in honour of Mr. and Mrs. St. J. White. Mrs. White was the recipient of a presentation. Mrs. Staple and Mr. Nelson White were the prize-winners for the evening.
The High School jubilee celebrations terminated on Monday night with a grand ball, held in the Town Hall. The hall was brightly decorated in the school's coloiu-s, with black and gold streamers and masses of greenery, with comfortably arranged sitting out places along the walls. Over 400 guests were present. The grand march was led by Mr. H. G. Carruth (ex-president of the Old Pupils' Association) and Miss D. Lupton, Mr. G. Foote (president) and Mrs. Lupton, and Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Charles. Among the ladies present were: Mesdames Charters, Lupton, F. O. Armstrong, A. Armstrong, Beattie, K. L. Bedlington, Bispliam, P.
