AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Amateur Athletic Club held their usual competitions on the Outer Domain on Saturday. 75 Tards Sprint.—First heat: McNiel 1. Lowe 2, Miller 3. Won by a foot. Time, 7 3-ss. Second freat: Adams 1. Bell 2, Savidan 3. Won by a head. Time, 7 2-ss. Third heat: Thomson 1, Clark 2, Poore 3. Won by inches. Time, 7 2-ss. Final: Thomson I, Adams 2, McNiel 3. Won toy three inches, all being very close together. Time, 7 2-ss. Throwing the Discus. —A good field of nineteen competed in this event, the winner being Thos. Filliott, sen.,'witha total of l°Oft 4in, W. G. Thompson second, with 115 ft lOin. and A. Clark third 113 ft 6in The next best were:— J. U. Keddle, 112 ft Jin ; A. Elliott, 112 ft: J. C. Tipping, 110 ft 6in • J. W. Turnbull, 110 ft ljin ; G. Elnott, 100 ft 9Jin ; and J. W. Murphy, 109 ft 4ip. Putting the Shot.—The competition in this event was very keen, the winner being C D Bell with a "put" of 39ft 10in, who beat J. C. Tipping, 39ft Gin, W. J. Lowe being third with 39ft Sin. Steeplechase, three miles and a half.— Savidan 1, McCarthy 2, Nicholson 3. Clark, McNiel and Rogers were the next to finish. The winner's time was 19.12. McCarthy did the distance in 21.31. Won by 70s.
