LAWN TENNIS.
MOUNT ALBERT CLUB. The annual meeting of the Mount Albert Dawn Tennis Club was presided over by Mr K H. P. Cockroft. The report showed that a membership of 102 left vacancies Cor a number of new players. Six grass courts and three hard courts for winter nlav, without extra subscription, gave excellent playing facilities, and a miniature golf course, quoits, deck tennis set and ping pong table offered plenty of amusement between sets and added attractions to the club. The winners of the various competitions were: — Men's championship singles (Caughey Cup), J. Stevens; men's handicap doubles, A .C. and J. Stevens; ladies' championship singles (Woodroffe Rosebowl), Miss E. Butler; ladies' handicap doubles, Messrs. P. Masefield and J. Porter; junior men's championship (Cockroft Cup), J. Stevens; combined handicap doubles, J. Stevens and Mrs. Dent. The election of officers resulted :—President, Mr. K. J. P. Cockroft; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. L. Caughey, C. W. Coles, P. C. Ellis ; lion, secretary, Mr. D. Sumner; hon. treasurer, Mr. C. B. Dent; hon. auditor, Mr. C. V. Marshall; lawn superintendent, Mr. S. V. Woodroffe; general committee, Messrs. W. Atwell, E. L. Burton, A. T. Garlick, R. G. Hook, A. C. Stevens, H. Wood; ladies' committee, Mesdames Masefield, Garlick, Dent, Misses E. Butler, B. Burton; delegates to A.L.T.A., Messrs. F. C. Ellis, R. G. Hook.
Mr. W. D. M. Glaister was made a life member in recognition of his services to the club.
