LATE MR. T. B. WILLIAMS.
The Wanganui City Council, standing in silence, passed a motion of condolence to the/family of Mr. Tom Boswall Williame, a former Mayor and councillor, who had rendered long and efficient service to the borough on various public bodies. Reference was made by telegram earlier in the week to the death of Mr. Williams, at the age of 78 years. He waa elected to the Wanganui Council in 1900, was a member for six years, and Mayor for two terms. Hie first term as Mayor was during the war, and he assisted greatly in the raising of patriotic funde. Mr. Williams was a member of the Harbour Board for a period, and also of the Wanganui River Trust. He was a warden of Christ Church, and a Past Master of the Masonic Order. He is survived by Mrs. Williams and the following children:—Messrs. Alex, Len and Ivo Williams, Mrs. J. MacFarlane, Mrs. Wimsctt, Misses 0. and H. Williams, of Wanganui, and Miss E. Williams, of Auckland.
