LATE SPORTING.

ASCOT GOLD CUP. Trimdon, winner of the Ascot Gold Cup, last year won the Ascot Gold Vase and was beaten at Newmarket about a month earlier by Bonworth, who won the Ascot Gold Cup at the same meeting. Early in May lie was beaten in the Chester Cup by that genuine stayer Brown Jack, and has now apparently reached the height of his form.
