CALLIOPE CLUB.
On Saturday the Calliope Harrier Club held a four miles sealed handicap race over a hard cross country course. Conditions were far *rom ideal, the ground being very heavy underfoot. Nevertheless all the iield" of 14 starters acquitted themselves well. The order home was:— A. Rowland, 24.24 1 A. B. Clayton, 24.33 2 J. S. Wengdal, 24.47 3 A. H. Eyre, 24.48 4 J. Silvester and C. M. Jewell, 25.27, dead heat, 5; D. Smith and R. Stac.ey, 25.42, dead heat, 7. The result of the sealed handicap was as follows: — A. E. Clayton, 80s, 23.13 1 A. Rowland, oos, 23.29 2 R. Stacey, J3os, 23.32 3 J. Silvester, 80s, and C. M.* Jewell, 80s, 23.57, dead heat 4 J. S. Wengdal, 40s, 24.70. 6; A. H. Eyre, 30s, 24.18, 7; D. Smith, 60s, 24.42, 8.
