END ON FRIDAY,
SESSION OF PARLIAMENT. STATEMENT BY MR.. FORBES. BRIDGE BILL DEFERRED. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The special business session of Parliament will be brought "to a close at midnight on Friday, according to a statement made by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, in the House this afternoon. The Premier said it was not proposed to deal with taxation but to defer the proposals until the normal session. All that remained to do was to pass the Finance Bill, the committee stages of which would be taken to-day, and the Earthquake Bill, the Select Committee report on which would be presented also to-day. With the Finance Bill disposed of, the House could deal with the Earthquake Bill 011 Friday, and every endeavour would be made to finalise the work by midnight. Mr. Forbes said that time would not permit of full information concerning the Auckland Harbour Bridge Bill being furnished, so the measure would have to come up again during the main session. Auckland members met this morning to consider the Harbour Bridge Bill, and came to the conclusion that it would have to be deferred until next session.
