LIVE STOCK FROM OVERSEAS.
RESTRICTIONS REMOVED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The danger of spreading' foot and mouth disease through the importation of live stock having been largely eliminated by the restrictions imposed at the Government quarantine station in England, the Board of Agriculture has decided that the embargo on the importation of stock from Great Britain should be lifted. The board realised that the long period which has elapsed since importations from B-itain were possible has created a position where breeders of some classes of stock urgently require new blood, without which deterioration both in quality and constitution may be expected. In fact deterioration is already noticeable.
