CANADIAN WHEAT.

MARKETING PROBLEMS. WINNIPEG, April 10. The elimination of speculation in grain is the only solution to growers', problems, states Mr. W. Sanford Evans, noted Canadian economist, and a member of the Sir Josiah Stamp Commission, which will probe grain futures for the Dominion Government. Mr. Evans' plan would permit pools to carry on their financing without the assistance of guarantees from the> Government. The banks would loan funds to the pools on the same basis as they finance line elevator companies. Grain hedging by pools, whereby large sales and purchases could be effected without actual delivery of grain, would be permitted. BIG CARRY.OVER. OTTAWA, April 11. The Canadian Bureau of Statistics estimates that the carry-over of wheat in Canada at the end of July this year will be about 115,000,000 bushels, exceeding the cany-over-last year, which was the largest in the history of the Dominion. The wheat held in Canada at the end of March totalled 275.100,987 bushels, or about 46,000,000 bushels more than at the hainc time in 1930. Oats totalled 210,272,666 bushels, against 105,666,003; bailey, 84,630,228 bushels, against U,Wj,123. ]
