LAST WOOL SALE.

REALISES £148,150. SOLD AT- 6%d PER LB. A total of £148,150 has been paid out on account of the last Auckland wool sale held on March 27, thus marking a very substantial improvement over tne Azures of the previous sale on January 17. Responding to the improved market tone passings last month were comparatively small, and of 16,959 bales offered 15,857 were disposed of. At the February sale the amount realised per bale was £5 13/5, and the price per lb was 4d. The returns for last month give corresponding figures of £9 6/10 per .bale and 6.54 d per lb. Although there has been a substantial and welcome improvement in the wool market prices are still very low and well under the average cost of production. The total receipts for the three sales in the season just closed amount to £323,807, compared with £498,717 in 1929-30, and over one million pounds sterling during tee two preceding seasons.
